Senior Adult Ministry

Mission
To Establish and maintain ministry opportunities for and with Senior adults to involve them in fellowship, ministry, and missions through First Baptist Church of Pelham – a lifelong ministry.

Introducing our Senior Adult Ministry
Our Senior Adults are very special at FBCP. Our usual meeting time is the second Tuesday of each month. We share ministry needs and develop strategies to involve our members in meeting those needs that we are able to do. We enjoy a covered dish meal, brought by our Seniors, and on special occasions, we have a prepared meal at a nominal cost.  It is a special time of fellowship for our Seniors.

Our Senior Adults are involved in a definite “Volunteer Ministry” throughout the total ministry of FBCP. Each year we take a Senior Adult Mission Trip, and for the last 14 years, we have gone to New Orleans for a week to minister to that city so devastated by Katrina.   Our Senior Adult mission trip is well attended yearly with from 25-45 ministering to those in need.  We see ourselves as leaders at FBCP in an effort to reach out to our community and reach others within our membership with a ministry of service.

Our Senior Adults travel to interesting places for day trips, and also take two or three trips that are 2-4 day trips to attend conferences and special events.

Cheergivers, are separate but united in ministering to the homebound and shut-in.  Most of the participants are out of our Senior Adults who give great care to those who cannot attend the regular services of FBCP.  We want to make sure that no one is neglected in ministry.
